FAQ
How is the daily goal decided?
Either you set it, or you let the app adjust it. Automatic adjustment starts from body weight (about 35 ml/kg) and adds for the degrees above 28 °C, humidity above 60% and a UV index above 6, activity (about 120 ml per 100 kcal) and caffeine (about 20 ml per 100 mg). Every coefficient is explained under "How auto-adjust works" in settings.
Why does the goal not move during the day?
The adjusted goal is settled at the first launch of each day. If it drifted with the weather every time you opened the app, your progress would change without you drinking anything.
Do coffee and beer count as hydration?
They do. Each drink carries a beverage hydration index, and the amount counted towards your goal is scaled by it. What gets written to Health uses the physical water content instead.
Can I add my own drinks?
Yes — under Drinks in settings. Set the name, icon, colour, hydration and caffeine. Kinds you never use can be hidden from the logging sheet, and past records are unaffected.
I logged the wrong thing. Can I remove it?
Yes. Swipe left in the history list, or open today's list from the bar above the tab bar and undo entries one at a time. Anything written to Health is withdrawn with it.
Is there an Apple Watch app?
It is arriving in a future release. You will be able to log and undo from your wrist, set the amount with the Digital Crown, and add a complication to your watch face.
Does my data sync across devices?
For now everything stays on your device. iCloud sync across devices is arriving in a future release.
Are the Health and location permissions required?
Both are optional. Decline Health and your records still live in the app; decline location and you can set the goal yourself.
